There are several Shino choshi still in existence. Among them, this choshi is particularly outstanding for its good balance of shape and the interesting painting. The body is tightened and decorated with a tozan motif of bamboo grass and pine trees in two rows on the top and bottom, and six pine needle motifs are arranged on the back of the handles. The Shino glaze over the entire body melts well, and the flat bottom has legs on three sides. The lid with pine trees on all four sides fits well, although it is not clear whether they are original. The low fire-colored glazed surface and the pungent design suggest that this pottery was made in the Kushiri Motoyashiki kiln.
