Height 8.0 cm, mouth diameter 25.0 cm, tripod
This triangular Shino pot with the mouth turned inward was popularly made at the Motoyashiki Kiln in Kusiri during the Keicho period (1596-1615), and five or six examples are known from this period. The bowls are all characterized by pictorial designs, and this one features a painting of a mountain castle with a castle-temple in a light brushstroke, with a rhythmical pattern on the rounded rim.
The rounded rim is rhythmically painted. The rounded bottom has legs on three sides, and the feldspar glaze over the entire surface shows little fire color, but it is an attractive piece.
