Height 6.3 cra, diameter 23.8 x 31.4 cm, six legs.
This is a flat bowl in the shape of a wooden oblong plaque, which is often found at shrines and temples, with the two characters “Seiden” carved deeply into the prospective face. This is a rare example of this type of bowl, which was probably specially ordered. The decorative incision on the raised rim is sharp and powerful. The sesame glaze is applied thickly and thinly over almost the entire surface, leaving seven large and small rounded slits in the prospective area, and the sides are also covered with a thin layer of sesame glaze. The purple-brown clay and the sesame glaze blend well with each other, giving the pottery a profound color tone. It has six low legs on the four corners of the flat bottom and in the center of the long side, and two large circular imprints on the bottom. It is not clear what the characters “seiden” mean.
