Height 26.2cm, mouth diameter 13.7cm, left and right 19.6cm, bottom diameter l4.5cm
The body is decorated with two deep horizontal spatula lines, between which are drooping ears, giving it an interesting zanguri appearance. The mouth and part of the body are lightly coated with a sesame glaze, while the rest of the body is brownish brown. A hinokigaki design is spatula-engraved on the back with vertical spatula marks on the left and right sides. There are traces of patterned holes on the front and back of the shoulder. The bottom of the vase is inscribed “Shihanotoza (flower press)” in the direct black lacquer calligraphy of Echen (Sen Souza). A flower vase with Echen’s direct calligraphy is rare.
