Tamba Jar
Tamba Jar

Height 45.8 cm, mouth diameter 14.3 cm, bottom diameter 17.5 cm
This is a jar with a rounded shoulder with a rounded rim, a slightly tapered base, and a thick layer of grass-green natural material from the mouth to the body, with a beautiful view of the five or so rows of weeping patterns. Unlike Bizen and Tokoname, Tamba ware is characterized by the strong reduction of the flame, resulting in a bluish coloring, and the glaze is bright on the reddish skin. The body has traces of sticking and the bottom is flat. It is probably made in the mid to late Muromachi period.
