This is a representative example of the milky white hand Kakiemon style from the period of its completion. The pot has a sturdy body and a richly decorated lid with a decorative knob at the center of the lid shell. The exterior of the lid and body are decorated with a wave pattern on the base, which appears to have been molded, but is so spacious and free in its movement that it seems to have been carved freehand. The base of the bowl is thin and has a strong impression, and the deeply carved areas are covered with a thick transparent glaze that has a slight bluish tinge. The overglaze painting is decorated with chrysanthemums, leaves, and plovers scattered over the waves, which shows the care taken to effectively bring out the beauty of the white porcelain. The red, blue, and light green of the overglaze painting are all vividly colored due to the high quality of the base. In the center of the body, a flying phoenix and a pearl are depicted in color in the style of a group pattern, and the back of the lid is also painted in color with an orizabu pattern. There is one small mark in the center of the slightly elevated stand. In addition, there is a small letter “U” written in pale blue overglaze painting on the top of the base, which is probably a mark of the recipient of the order.
