　This is a New Year’s design dish with the theme of “Jyoyo” (a Japanese name for the leaves of the Zelkova family), decorated in white on the reverse side and showing blue ocean waves in the background. The greenish-blue paint used for the “Jyoyo” leaves is unique to Nabeshima, and only pieces with this vivid color are often superior. The back is decorated on three sides with a design of peonies and branches, which is also common on many of the finer pieces. The back is decorated with a peony design on three sides.
