Height 11.0cm, Bowl diameter 41.2cm, Stand diameter 21.3cm, Toyama Memorial Museum
This bowl has the same shape as the large bowl in overglaze enamels with peony and butterfly design in overglaze enamels, and is thought to have been made in the same period, although the design is different. The design is different from that of the large bowl, but it is thought to have been made at the same time. The design is very detailed for a large dish of this type, with a depiction of a peony tree with flowers and buds in the foreground, flowers and grasses, and three butterflies of various sizes in the space between the flowers. The rim is decorated with a pattern of colored paper with a yellow border, divided into eight sections, each depicting an eagle resting on an old tree, and in two places, a wood rabbit. On the reverse side, there are five windows in the kakusa-ma style, each with a landscape design, and between the windows are Chinese floral motifs. The inside of the base is decorated with seal script characters written in a double circle and covered with a green glaze.
