The hibiscuses are painted in gosu and iron pigments, and the hibiscuses’ leaves are modeled after Korin’s style. On one side of the body, an inscription of praise for the poem, “Shouka moku shou shun kou early in spring, Qianshan shou noon (calligraphy) (flower seal)” is inscribed, and a line of iron pigment is applied between the base and the waist.
