The lid of the box it came in is inscribed with the words “Nanban Kyusu, Kibai-zukuri”. Kibai’s Nanban-style kyusu teapots are highly regarded among sencha tea drinkers, and this piece also has a well-defined shape and an interesting clay surface, and is also something that cannot be imitated by others. It is a small, thin piece overall, and Kibai’s mark is stamped on the back of the handle.
