This is also a copy of a Shourui standing melon incense container from the late Ming period, and it really captures the spirit of Shourui. The melon is standing, and 80% of the shape is made up of the melon itself, with a design on a white background on two sides of the body, and a fine ground pattern on the other two sides. On the white background, on one side there is a picture of a bamboo grove and a landscape with a pavilion, and on the other side there is a design of two birds on an old tree. It is also kept in a matching box, and the words “Shourui Rikka Kogou Koki Kanboku Zou” are written on it. Many works that faithfully reproduce this type of molded incense container do not have an artist’s seal, and many of the inscriptions on the box also only include the artist’s pseudonym.
