Enjobo Soen picked it up from the ashes of Honnoji Temple after it was burned by Akechi Mitsuhide, and it was probably in the possession of Honnoji Temple or Oda Nobunaga. Afterwards, it passed through Kuwayama Repair, Nakayama Chumanosuke, Kobe Hikohichi, Kanda Yasuharu, and Mitsui Motohachi, and came into the possession of Matsudaira Fumai, and was handed down to the same family thereafter.
