Important cultural property. A Chukko masterpiece. Seto Tenmoku tea bowl. Named for the black candy-colored vertical stripes that appear in the yellow glaze inside and outside the bowl and form the shape of chrysanthemum flowers. Originally owned by Izumi-no-mori Kobori, it left the Kobori family for Osaka in 1775 (An-ei 4) and was purchased by a man named Matakichi. Later it belonged to Matsudaira, lord of the Ueda domain in Shinano Province, and entered the Fujita family in December 1912.
