This is now used as a gulping cup, but it was probably once made as a boar’s mouth for a set of several customers. However, there are few Shino boar cups of this type, and this one is considered to be the first masterpiece among them. The bottom is rounded and shallowly carved, and the sides of the bottom are slanted.
The body is loosely tightened to give it a different appearance. The Shino glaze over the entire body is soft and warm, with red burns from the base to the bottom. Three round marks remain on the sides of the bottom, and there is a small round carving in the center of the bottom. It is a beloved item of the late Mr. Masuda.
