Height 5.5cm, Bowl diameter 13.9-16.4cm, Base diameter 5.8cm
This is a shallow mukozuke with one side of the mouth distorted inward after being thrown on the potter’s wheel in a circular shape, and the base is cut off on three sides to form a so-called split base. There are several other mukozuke of this type in existence, and although they are often used as tea bowls today, they are clearly made as mukozuke. The front is decorated with a plum tree and a bush warbler, and the white glaze is applied all the way to the base. There are four sticking marks around the base. Similar pottery shards were excavated from the Motoyashiki kiln.
