This is a cylindrical sake cup with a slightly warped mouth. The base of the bowl has a single thin tatami mat, and the inside of the base has been deeply cut into the surface. The front and back are decorated with ivy-like tendrils, which are painted in a graceful pattern from the hem to the mouth. The hem of the body has purple blotches, probably caused by years of use, which deepen the flavor of the piece.
