Tea bowl, Kuro-garatsu type

Tea bowl, Kuro-garatsu type

Height 9.0cm, mouth diameter 12.6cm
Tea bowls with a snake-scorpion style glaze with feldspar glaze over a black glaze have been excavated from Shokoya and Ushi kilns, and this tea bowl is presumably made in the Shokoya style. This tea bowl is probably made in the style of Oribe black, and is made in the Shuhama style with a rounded waist and two sides pressed down from the body to the mouth. The base has been cut out in a careless manner and slightly low, and the interior and exterior are covered with a double layer of feldspar glaze over a black glaze, giving the glazed surface a white serpent scorpion-like appearance. The glazed surface is white and has a serpent-scorpion style. The clay surface has a high iron content.
