This bowl has a low base and is carved in a single thin layer. The two sides of the body and the front of the bowl are strongly decorated with a design of plum trees with buds on them. This is one of the best painted karatsu pots, probably made by Tani, a potter. The mouth rim is decorated with a rim cover.
