This is a rather shallow and large sake cup with a broadly carved base. The body is painted on two sides with a grass pattern in thick brush strokes, and the glaze on the inside and outside is a grayish-blue color. This is also an excellent example of Karatsu sake cup. It was probably made by the Taku Koraigaya kiln.
