This is probably the most interesting Bizen tea caddy of the Momoyama period (1573-1600), with a deep sense of elegance unique to Bizen. It is made in the shape of a gourd with a slightly long body, but the shape is well balanced and the body has vertical stripes on all four sides. The body has vertical stripes on all four sides. The kiln mark is clearly visible on the body. The body is covered with ash on one side and reddish or dark on the other side. This is a masterpiece of this type of tea caddy. It was handed down in the Kuroda family. The chamfered spatula around the hem of this tea caddy is well shaped.
Also of the same work, the bottom is clearly carved with a circular spatula. A kiln mark is engraved on the body. Half of the body is covered with ash, and the other half is soft and reddish, and has been fired to a crisp.
