This is a typical example of a Bizen lid rest, and is thought to have been the type of Hikikiri lid rest used by Tennojiya Dosari on April 2, Bunroku 3. The Hikikiri is probably a bamboo lid rest. This is also a copy of a bamboo lid rest. This is an Ibe-designed lid rest made of lacquered clay with a sesame glaze on the hem. Sotan wrote his seal in red lacquer on the inside hem, indicating that it once belonged to Sotan. It was handed down to the Konoike family. It is housed in an ikkan-bari box.
