Height 5.3 cm, mouth diameter 26.8 x 28.5 cm, bottom diameter 23.3 x 24.1 cm.
Rising low, the mouth rim opens flat to a tale. It is a large flat bowl in the shape of a jyukuri (gourd), and is an excellent and powerful work of this type. The prospect shows red omissions, and the surrounding area is dark brown and tightly fired. The bottom is partly covered with a sesame seed glaze. The bottom of the vessel has been scraped on three sides with a comb, and it is likely that the legs were attached there, but the legs were lost during firing. Bizen potters call this scraping of the area where the legs are attached “kakiyaburi. A large kiln mark is spatula-engraved in the center of the bottom.
