Height 16.0 cm, mouth diameter 19.3 cm, bottom diameter 14.8 cm
This is a so-called “onioke” (oken) suizashi, thinly and neatly molded. It is estimated to be a tea ceremony utensil from the late Shukugama period, or Momoyama period, and is rarely seen elsewhere. The body is thinly combed with a thin layer of ash glaze falling from the mouth to the body. The mouth is marked with a “#” under the mouth.
It is probably a copy of a water jar of the Nanban noren style. The bottom is flat, and there are marks on three sides.
