This piece is commonly called “Sokushiba” because it looks like a bundle of bushes.
Although it is not known whether or not it was originally made as a water jar, it is a unique piece among Tamba wares and is estimated to have been made in the middle of the Edo period. The entire surface is covered with a candy glaze, and the bottom is marked with six marks. It is an outstanding piece of Sokushiba.
