This is a type of cup with a low, thick base and lid. This type of cup disappeared around the end of the 6th century and was not followed by others. It is made of a gray, slightly sandy clay and is well finished on the potter’s wheel. It has a sharp wheel-thrown finish with three circular watermarks on the base and the oyster pattern characteristic of this period appears on the surface.
