This is a purely celadon porcelain water jar. The unique shape of this vessel, with its wide mouth and taut body, seems to have been inherited from the Momoyama style. The body is covered with two thick lines of carving, and rough line patterns are applied under the shoulder and on the body. The mouth and body are covered with a band of cinnabar glaze and celadon glaze. The cinnabar coloring is truly brilliant, and the celadon color is also quite vivid.
