Height 22.4cm, mouth diameter 10.1cm, body diameter 19.0cm, bottom diameter 8.2cm
This is an excellent early Imari blue-and-white jar, probably made in the Kan’ei period. As usual, the neck is long, the mouth rim is slightly open to the outside, and it is made with a stroked shoulder. The body shows a landscape design, but the expression is somewhat diffuse. However, the coloring of the underglaze blue is deep and the glaze is smooth and well blended. The bottom of the bowl has been deeply carved.
