This is a bowl with a low base that rises up in a relaxed bowl shape, a rare example of an Imari type bowl. The rim is decorated with a six-sided window with chrysanthemum and peony patterns, and the base is red with arabesque patterns in white overlaid with gold, while the outside is decorated with arabesque patterns in six directions with chrysanthemum patterns in between. The color scheme is unique to Imari ceramics. A single circle in the center of the base is depicted in underglaze blue, and there is a trace of an eye mark. Among Imari ceramics, this type is commonly called quasi-type, but it is not clear when the distinction between this type and quasi-type was made and according to what standard.
