 This is a large dish of straightforward form. The inside of the estimated circular window is decorated with arabesque motifs on Imari type stone, and the front of the window is decorated with a pedestal with a high column. The four sides of the interior are decorated with arabesque motifs in red within a frame of underglaze blue, and the character for “Kotobuki” in red, black, and gold are finely blotted out to form a ground motif. The outer surface is decorated with twelve “yui” (tie) patterns, and the inscription “Fugi Changchun” is written in underglaze blue within a 2-den circle in the base of the bowl. The box containing this dish is inscribed in ink “Kyoho 6 nen yoshichi juugatsu yachi” (8th day of the 7th month of the 6th year of the reign of Kyoho).
