Foliated bowl with peony design, enamelled ware

Foliated bowl with peony design, enamelled ware

Height 11.2cm, Bore 23.5cm, Base 11.2cm, Suntory Museum of Art
This bowl is similar to the previous one, but the five-petaled flowers with a shallow incision in the center and the small floral pattern in the center of the prospective flower are patterns that were not on the previous bowl, and later became a common practice for Kakiemon style bowls. The inner bowl is decorated with plum blossoms, peonies, and boxwood, while the outer bowl is decorated with peonies and grape trellises. However, this is one of the representative works from the period of its completion.
