Small sake cups of this type were mass-produced in large quantities for export, and many were introduced to Europe. The sake cup shown in Fig. 83 shows a design of basho (Japanese banana) and small birds on a karako (a Chinese child), but such a design is rare. Figure 84 shows an arabesque design with peony flower patterns on three sides.
