Jar with, enamelled ware

The body of this jar has a dodecagonal shape. The jar with chrysanthemum design in overglaze enamels is decorated only with underglaze blue and red, while the jar with flower and bird design in overglaze enamels is decorated with peonies and flying phoenixes. The arabesque design on the shoulder and the serrated petal design on the neck are similar, suggesting that both vases were made around the same time, but the jar with chrysanthemum design in underglaze blue and the jar with flower and bird design in underglaze blue were made in nishiki-te, while the jar with flower and bird design in underglaze blue was made in milky white.
