If there are flying phoenixes in the sky, cherry blossoms are in full bloom on the ground, celebrating spring. The cherry blossoms on this plate are part of a set of illustrations of pottery that belonged to the Nabeshima Munehan family, and the year Kyoho 3 is written on the illustration. However, the plate is of high quality and was probably made before the Kyouho period, but the date on the illustration does not necessarily indicate the approximate date of production of this piece, so it is not surprising that it was made before the Kyouho period.
The entire screen appears bright and even tightened because of the very vivid coloring of the cherry tree trunks and branches. The reverse side is decorated with a cloisonne knot design, and the base is covered with a kushime pattern. The five pieces are in perfect condition.
