Dish with karahana flower design. blue and white
Height 5.0cm, mouth diameter 19.8cm, base diameter 9.9cm
This dish is thought to be an excellent example of a seven-sun blue-and-white dish from the early period of the Okawachi Domain kilns, or the Empo era. The dish is sharply and widely opened from the waist to the top, and has an unusual shape for a seven-sided dish. The circular white-painted outlook with Karafana design on the inner five sides shows the spontaneous and strong brushwork of the period, and the shape of the dish is also powerful. The fine peony arabesque design on the exterior is old-fashioned.
The pedestal is a comb-shaped pedestal.
