These works were conventionally called “Matsugaya,” but as already mentioned, they are assumed to belong to the Ko-Nabeshima group. The overglaze painting was done on a white ground with a haze-like overglaze pattern in a light shade of blue. The molding is die-cut, but the pieces are thick and quite solid. The purpose of these vessels seems to have been the same, but they may have been made as booze cups. Some of them have thin tubes on the sides. Some of the overglaze glazes flowed and mixed into the bowls, which is a rather careless style, but the pieces still have a certain dignity.
