This is a rare example of an oddly shaped plate molded into a butterfly shape. The entire surface of the front is overglazed with a butterfly design, but the overall color tone is pale. The reverse side is decorated on two sides with a cloisonne design in the style of Chinese flowers, and the base is covered with a serrated lotus petal design.
