This spittoon has a wide, curved mouth in the shape of a ring flower, and is decorated with a turnip design in underglaze blue. It is small for a spittoon, but it may have been modeled after the shape of spittoon for chewing tobacco found in export items from Imari and other regions. This is an unusual piece.
