　The gourd design can be found in the Ko-Kutani style, as well as in many Imari Sometsuke and Iroe ware of the 17th century, and it is one of the representative designs favored in the 17th century. In particular, the Ko-Kutani blue-glazed ware is deeply impressive due to the unique color scheme. This large dish can be said to be the most outstanding of all the large dishes with blue-glazed gourd patterns, and is an imposingly large work.
