 This tea caddy has a distinctly shaped shoulder, but the mouth has a very low rise. The mouth is covered with black glaze, and the under shoulder is covered with a scale wave pattern.
 The flat bottom is cut with a thread and stamped with the seal of Ninsei. It is housed in a Sowa box with the inscription “Omuro mochi ni shikishikite” on the front of the lid, but what does “mochi” mean?
