This is a rare ring-shaped Teihei hanging jar with a pedestal. Teihei hanging jars are only known to have been found in Hiroshima Prefecture, and together with bird-shaped jars and other types of jars, this jar is thought to be a special item from the same region. It was made by joining the two halves of the front and back sides together. Both sides are decorated with chinkansen and wavy designs, and the sides are decorated with comb-teeth designs. The shoulder has a square flattened ear. It is well fired and has a grayish-blue color.
