This kakegane is an eccentric design of an umbrella with a bamboo handle, which is typical of Kyoyaki pottery. The umbrella’s bones are carved with fine lines, and a design of plum blossoms and birds is painted in detail. A somewhat illegible seal “□suke” is stamped on the hem of the vase. Along with the previous painting, this hanging flower vase does not appear to be of a very high age.
