 This ceramic dagger was probably displayed on Sekku (a festival occasion). The black lacquered ground with chrysanthemum and paulownia patterns in maki-e lacquer is a good example of the taste of this sword. The bottom of the bottom is stamped with the “O ‘Muro’ seal, which was used by Sozaburo and Kazuzen, adopted sons of Eiraku Kenshuji, when they rebuilt the Omuro kiln, and it is said that Sozaburo was mainly responsible for firing. On the front of the lid of the box, there is an inscription: “Shinsyo, a dagger for decoration,” and on the back of the lid, “Kazari-use dagger, a dagger for Kazari, received from Kazari-sama, made in the garden of Ninna-ji Temple, May, Bunkyu 2, Bunkyu 2.
