Sue ware horses, along with earthenware horses, are mainly excavated from ritual sites.
There are two types of horses: decorated horses and bareback horses. The former were used from the Kofun period until around the beginning of the Nara period, and bareback horses were used thereafter. Most of this artifact has been stripped away, but the saddle and the leather straps of the equipment remain.
