This is a large cup with a shallow cup section and a two-tiered openwork base, on top of which is mounted a central lid and six surrounding cups, the central cup being mounted on a high base created from the base of the cup. All of the cups have now lost their lids. Clay cords are attached to the outer surface of the high cup from the base of the base to the lid cup, but this is probably to prevent distortion from firing rather than for decorative effect.
