This bowl is identical to the Shosoin Nisai bowl in terms of the base glaze tone, and is decorated with a series of arc patterns in green and white Nisai on the interior and exterior surfaces of the bowl. It is thought that this bowl originally belonged to the Shosoin, but as it is inscribed “Meiji Boshitora September, Shomin Kosetsu”, it must have left the Shosoin before the 11th year of Meiji. Formerly owned by the Masuda family.
