This tea bowl is attributed to Ōhi V. It features an interesting design with a slightly irregular form, characterized by a small, compact foot that transitions to the body, with a spiral chamfer running from the foot to the body. The interior has a distinct tea pool, the foot is tall, and the inside of the foot is carved vertically. The body is decorated with a pattern of crabs and bamboo leaves painted in white slip, while the other side features a carved swirl pattern; the entire piece is covered in an amber glaze. On the underside of the inner box lid, Ryoryosai has inscribed: “Ōhi-yaki red tea bowl with crab and bamboo design, signed ‘Ashima’ (seal on the left).”
