15th century
Height (present) 24.3cm, Body diameter 20.5cm, Bottom diameter 11.6cm
This is a three-lobed jar of a rare form, the oral part of which is regrettably now lost. Based on the shape of the body and the base, it cannot be dated to the first half of the 15th century. The slightly grayish-yellowish-white color of the base is probably a product of the Mino region. The glaze is iron glazed on the base and overlaid with feldspar oil, similar to Momoyama period Nezumi-Shino in terms of yuzu technique. The natural glaze on the shoulder suggests that this is a Shukugama piece. Considering the age of production, this glaze requires much consideration.
