This wide-mouth vase has an upright neck and a slightly long body with a constricted waist, and is similar in form to Song dynasty wide-mouth vases. The design is strictly speaking a combination of seal and painted flower patterns. In the peak period of Koseto, many pieces have a design that combines the two. A rounded sword-tip design, which appears to be a petal, is stamped on the upper edge of the shoulder, and a thinly painted peony design fills the wide area in the center of the piece. The ash glaze is evenly melted but slightly oxidized, giving it a yellowish green color.
