This is one of the small water jars from the late Kamakura period, the heyday of Koseto. It is made of yellowish-white “zanguri-shi” clay and is water-ground. The shoulder is decorated with a line. The iron glaze is thickly applied over the entire surface, and the reddish-brown candy glaze has an uneven tone with many black stripes.
