Wakamiya Shukokan
This jar was passed down to the Wakamiya family, a member of the Hakusan Shrine family. The wide mouth rim is partially folded over to form a one-sided mouth with ringed ears on both sides of the shoulder. It is made of rough yellowish-white clay and water-ground. The ash glaze is fired by oxidizing iron and has a color similar to that of yellow glaze, and there are fine penetrations all over the surface.
